Ruby Hill Winery in Pleasanton |
|
Ruby Hill Winery is one of Livermore Valley’s historic wineries; the vineyards were first planted in 1883. The red clay of the vineyard gave the winery its name. The winery nearly faced extinction numerous times, until it was protected by The Friends of the Vineyards in the 1980s. Two decades later the winery underwent a rebirth, thanks to Mike Callahan and award-winning winemaker Chris Graves. The winery uses sustainable farming methods to create the best grapes possible. Ruby Hill hosts events throughout the year, and offers a unique vineyard bus tour for groups of eight to 14 with advance reservations.
Wines: Pinot Bianco, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Petit Sirah, Port, sparkling wines, and blends.
Tasting Room: Open daily 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Ruby Hill has a spacious tasting room with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. Includes a large selection of boutique gifts, gourmet foods, wine accessories, and clothing. |
