Livermore real estate is thriving because this lovely city is a very desirable place to live in. It has a great arts scene, good nightlife venues, excellent schools, and a wealth of recreational opportunities. The Livermore schools are very well known for their academic excellence and all-rounded curriculum. There are enough public and private schools to offer good educational choices for its residents. The public school district in Livermore is the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District. With oversight over all Livermore public schools, the district operates a total of 11 elementary schools from kindergarten to fifth grade. There are four middle schools from sixth to eighth grade, and a total of three high schools.

There are also two charter schools in Livermore for parents and students who are looking for alternatives within the public schools. Attendance is by choice at charter schools and often allotted by lottery due to the popularity and limited space available. Livermore Valley Charter School offers education to children from kindergarten to eighth grade in a public school-charter school format. Another well-known charter school is Livermore Valley Charter Preparatory.

Within the city of Livermore itself, you’ll find a many parks, ball fields and opportunities to get sports such as baseball to soccer into your schedule—or your child’s schedule. There are 28 neighborhood parks, two community parks and 10 special use parks just within Livermore. There are also great pools and swimming complexes here for lap swimming and swimming lessons.

When looking a home in Livermore that is for sale, potential buyers will find many options. This landscape of this former ranching community has completely changed over the last century. What was once abundant open land has given way to single-family homes, townhomes, condos and other housing choices. Most of the people who live in Livermore own their own home, although there also are a fair number of people who rent here.

For example, the Northside is a lovely neighborhood located on the north side of Downtown Livermore.  This area has a combination of detached homes, duplexes, tri-plex’s, multiunits, and commercial property.

Northside is very convenient for going to Downtown Livermore, shopping, and freeways.  May Nissen Park is a mid size neighborhood park in the center of the Northside neighborhood. This park has a swim center, picnic tables, barbeque pits, youth play structure, sports fields, and a dog park.

Carlton Square is another beautiful neighborhood in Livermore, also near Downtown Livermore. Carlton Square was built by Hoffman from 1965-1967. These homes have living space that ranges from 1100-1800 sq. ft.  Most of these models are all single story homes. The average lot size is 6500 – 7500 sq .ft. of land. The public schools serving this neighborhood are Smith Elementary, Mendenhall Middle School, and Granada High School.  Smith Elementary and Granada High School are walking distance for children that live in Carlton Square. Most of the homes have been remodel and the surround area is well maintained.
