Live in Livermore

There are many good reasons to live in Livermore, including the dozens of wineries that make the local wines of this charming city. Livermore is located in picturesque northern California and part of the Tri-Valley area that is distinguished by its great arts and cultural showcases, recreational areas, good schools, diverse housing choices and much more.

If you are looking to move to Livermore, one important thing to keep in mind is the access to a large urban center and employment opportunities in San Francisco. Situated in the San Francisco Bay Area, Livermore is only 35 miles from San Francisco – making it very convenient for commuters who take Highways 84 or 580.

Livermore founded in 1869, is California’s oldest wine region. Award-winning wineries, farm lands and ranches showcase the valley’s Western heritage. The City of Livermore is the easternmost city in the San Francisco Bay Area and gateway to the Central Valley. Protected by the coastal range the Livermore Valley enjoys a mild climate.

For people who love the outdoors, there’s a great deal of natural open space here with parks, hiking trails and areas for camping. It’s also situated in California’s famous Wine Country and a popular destination for all wine lovers, especially those of good Californian vintage. There are about 50 wineries not far from Livermore, and many present on-going events and many activities for its guests. Some of the top names include Wente Vineyards and Concannon Vineyards.

Livermore is a technology hub and home to world-famous science and technology centers, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Sandia National Laboratory.  Both laboratories, in addition to being the heart of innovation in science, are some of the biggest employers in Livermore.

Homes in Livermore include many nice single-family houses, condos, and townhomes. Luxury homes in Livermore are also available for rent or purchase.

Residents also enjoy excellent schools, including public, charter, private, and higher-education.

The city also has an excellent arts scene with opera, symphony, theater and unique events showcasing Livermore’s Western heritage. A 500-seat performing arts center is a community gathering area for enjoying music and other performances.

The city government of Livermore works closely with community organizations to support local stores and businesses. Livermore’s historic downtown is highly regarded and features great shopping, events, and dining. The downtown area is an excellent example of this unique blend of arts, culture, western heritage, and vibrant local establishments. Historic Downtown Livermore has a new 10-screen cinema and other urban features such as residential projects, art/live workspaces, and a pedestrian-oriented environment.

Despite being a larger city, Livermore has the feel of a laid-back Western town which still values its roots and welcomes the new innovations that make it the progressive city it is today.
